BF_Philly Posted February 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2005 I read alot about the benefits of buying a soda card. In most reviews it said they give you a Mug. Do I have to carry that around with me all day?? Or do I just show the card where ever I ask for a soda?
jleq Posted February 13, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2005 I've never gotten a mug. Just the card
jima53 Posted February 13, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2005 You pay for a card depending on the length of the cruise plus tip.... when you aske for a soda they pour you a glass, one per request usually. If they are pushing bar drinks some wait staff may not be anxious to spend their time bringing you sodas. We found 20 oz. plastic bottle sodays were almost $3.00 with the 15% tip added to the cost. Not sure what they were charging for the equivalent can soda, or glass of soda. If you need a lot of sodas, lug a case onboard, they don't mind or pay the cost one way or another. popcorngal Posted February 13, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2005 We never got a mug either, though I did see lots of people carrying around neat looking Carnival/Coke glasses. Still haven't figured out where they got them! The soda cards are a good deal if you can drink enough soda each day to break even. Since DH and I are both soda drinkers, we buy one card and usually supplement it with bottles bought ashore.
zydecocruiser Posted February 13, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2005 Carnival doesn't have mugs - some other lines do including at least one Carnival brand. Just know that they are only for fountain sodas - no bottles or cans. If you order in a restaurant they will bring you a bottle by default and then expect to charge you for it. Make sure when you order you let them know you have the card.
