Ok so we have made the final decision to get a double scooter while in Key West. We are in Port from 7-2 and wonder... what are must sees while in Key West.

Thanks so much for any help.

Personally I'd walk, but if you started at the end of Whitehead and worked south, you'd see the Audubon House and the Green Parrot bar on your left and, a little farther along, the Hemingway House and the Key West Lighthouse and museum. Immediately afterwards you'd hit Petronia and the Bahama Village where you could stop and browse.

On the way on your right you'd pass Southard and if you rode down to the right you'd come to the entrance to Fort Zachary Taylor.

At the end of Whitehead is the Southernmost Point for a photo-op. Then you can ride along South Street past Duval and Simonton until you come to Reynolds Street. Make a right and at the end, about three blocks down, you make a left and you are at Higgs Beach. You can park and walk out onto the White Street pier and walk around the West Martello Tower and Botanical garden. Very nice in there.

You could continue along Atlantic Blvd and make a right at Bertha and you'd be at Smathers beach. You can ride all the way around the island from there, but I'd turn around at the East Martello Tower just past the airport and come back.

On the way back turn north on Simonton. You will pass Sarabeth's on the left and at about Olivia Street the Simonton Street is tree-lined on both sides with many older, traditional Conch houses. Look for the Curry Mansion. At Green, make a right and it dead-ends at the Key West Bight at the Conch Republic Seafood Co. for lunch.

Follow Front back to where you started at Whitehead and stop at the Key West Art & Historical Society for the exhibition there. This keeps you off Duval.
