Nassau Snorkeling In January

I posted this over on the Bahamas board and haven't gotten any response, so thought I would try here.

Has anyone been snorkeling in Nassau in January? We will be there in early January and are only in port from 7am - 1pm, so I am looking at ship excursions and trying to decide between Seahorse sailing and snorkeling and the Blue Lagoon Island beach break. I already did an internet search on water temps and it is sounding like the water might be too chilly to snorkel comfortably. I would love to hear some first-hand experiences!

When we were in the Bahamas last year end on january, water temps were in the low 70's..not warm but compared to Pennsylvania in january!

Since you are from Minn., I believe that you will be comfortable. On the other hand, if you were from Florida you would be chilly.

Did it a few years back. The water was chilly, but once you are in it is ok(the snorkeling wasn't very good though). The worse part was the ride back to port wet, now that was cold so make sure you take something warm for after.
