TheSecondSister Posted August 23, 2010 #26 Share Posted August 23, 2010 And don't forget the raisin buns :) My breakfast was usually grapefruit, raisin bun (or sometimes buns), and bacon. And coffee, or course. I'm not a big breakfast person, but I can vouch for the Scottish Eggs Benedict. A bit different, and very tasty!
brooklyn66 Posted August 24, 2010 #27 Share Posted August 24, 2010 so, if you order breakfast in the room, if you wait to get it until the main dining room is open, you can write in items????? even if they are not on the room service menu??? Correct - you can order what the MDR is having via room service while the MDR is open.
fortheloveofcruise Posted August 24, 2010 #29 Share Posted August 24, 2010 Breakfast in the MDR is one of the best parts of the day! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the chocolate croissants they serve, they are one of the things I looks most forward to with HAL (strange, I know :o). The eggs benedict are wonderful, and the corn flake crusted french toast they have sometimes is delicious as well. Hmm... I dont think I can wait this long to sail again.... Lunch is always good too. They have some special items, or something as simple as a really good bacon cheeseburger (with brie cheese, or havartti etc). We enjoy the MDR for as many meals as possible. dewong2008 Posted August 28, 2010 #30 Share Posted August 28, 2010 On Princess and NCL we did not care for the buffet place...too busy...too loud...took forever to find a table so we discovered on NCL the wonders of the MDR for breakfast! One reason I prefer Holland America to Princess is that their LIDO buffet breakfast has much better food - in my opinion. You may be surprised if you try it.
