What is there to do right off the ship in La Romana???

Hi Everyone!!!!!

 

Can you just walk of the ship and shop or look around in La Romana?

Is it safe to do this?

Don't know what to do here! UGH! :(

We were there a year ago. There is really nothing to do off the ship if you don't take some kind of tour. It is not a touristy area at all. There is one small shop that you can buy a few items. Not much selection at all.

We took a tour to Altos de Chevon. It was nice, but don't know if I would ever want to do it again. Just a lot of vendors selling stuff. Was very pretty there.

We heard other people on the ship say that they took a taxi into the town and they were very dissapointed.

Thanks! Seriously thinking about just staying on ship that day!!! relax! The other 3 ports we are going to will be busy! Will be nice to take a break!
