izzypooch Posted August 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2010 Has anyone ever been on a cruise and got the crazy idea to try to book the next cruise onboard? (In other words, turn a single cruise into a spur of the moment B2B). I'm leaving tomorrow and looked to see about availability but it's showing the cruise is sold out. :( However, I'm hoping maybe there will be some last minute cancellations while I'm on my first cruise. What do you think my chances are?
firefly333 Posted August 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2010 Chances sound pretty slim if the next cruise is sold out. someone on another thread put down a $50 fee to be waitlisted for a cruise next sunday. Prices could be sky high too if a cabin does come available
ManyMore Posted August 22, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2010 Once we were on a cruise and there was a hurricane coming in for the next week so they got hit with lots of cancelations. They left a paper in each cabin offering the next weeks cruise for $25 per day per person plus free clothes washing. The best part was one week was eastern and the next western so not even the same ports.

The best part was one week was eastern and the next western so not even the same ports. Now that was a dream come true. Our first cruise was in 2005 and we stayed on the ship an extra two days because Hurricane Rita closed the port we left from (Galveston). And I thought that was a dream. I can only imagine how excited I would be to get an extra week at those prices. Of course, living in hurricane country I wouldn't wish a hurricane on my worst enemy. Ship Addict Posted August 22, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2010 We tried to do a b2b in 2008 but there was NO discount to book that day! They wanted $600-700 p/p for a 5-day cruise! no way!
crazy cajun Posted August 22, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2010 If there happens to be empty cabins for the next cruise ,Make them a REASONABLE offer and they may accept it. Better to sell it for less than face value than to sail w/ it empty.
golfadj Posted August 22, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 22, 2010 Wwe have seen it for about 200 pp years ago but have not seen it since.

I actually asked and if they would discount I would have stayed on. Not for the price they offered!!
izzypooch Posted August 23, 2010 Author #10 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Hubby and I are just going to play it by ear. We figure if the casino is kind and we are liking the ship we will inquire about availablity on the next cruise. I really wasn't even thinking about getting a deal, I just figured the price would be approximately what the website is showing right now. I'd bulk if the price was a lot more. It's not like I can't live without another three days on the ship. If it happens, it happens. I'll post when I get back if anyone is curious.
