Best Restaurant in New Orleans for a group of 30?

We will be sailing on the Triumph for a Wedding and are looking for a Restaurant that would accomodate approx. 30 people that is not super expensive for a dinner the night before the cruise.

 

If you have a favorite spot that you think would work we would love to hear about it..

 

Also if you have a good group hotel we would like to hear about that also.

If you want casual but GREAT food, try Oceana Grill in the French Quarter. The courtyard would probably hold 30 and they also have a room upstairs that you can have to yourselves. Best Mardi Gras Pasta in town! You could go in jeans also where many of the restaurants I would feel uncomfortable in jeans on a weekend night.

Hi PJTulsa - you may want to check out Chowhound for this type of question. I use it extensively and when it comes to food issues, it cannot be beat. Makes sense to go to CC for cruise questions and Chowhound for food questions.

The Gumbo Shop on St Peter in the Quarter. Just down the street from Pat O'Briens. Great Creole food, very reasonable prices. We eat there every single time we go to NOLA, usually more than once. :) That would be close to 20 times by now.

Deanies seafood is really good and is more casual. Prices aren't bad and the food is excellent. It is a couple of blocks off Bourbon St.
