Carnival Splendor or Norwegian Star in March?

My wife and I have only cruised on Royal Caribbean before, but we wanted to do the Mexican Riviera the end of March. We're trying to decide between Carnival Splendor and Norwegian Star. Looking for the positives and negatives from each before we decide.

I have been on both and had fun. I would rather go back on Splendor.The freestyle/Anytime dining was a hassle with long lines on the Star and the kids program is better on Carnival.

I think I preferred NCL Star...Maybe because it was the first cuise my BF and I took together. I wasn't a fan of the pool area with the big screen or the sliding roof. I liked the Star's pool area, when it was windy at sea, you could sit with a wind block and still be by the main pool area. We liked the bar area up top by the pool, also. They are both nice ships...I think it was easier to find my way around on the Star, but I get lost easy. Either ship, I am sure you will have a great cruise. Maybe check to see which one is the better price...

I wouldn't choose any NCL ship again lol I just don't care for NCL but do like Carnival and RCCL

Star is a pretty ship. Casino and entertainment was excellent. That said I do not like freestyle. Overall I like RCCL and CCL better. Food was way better on those lines.
