What to do in St Lucia ???

Hi myself and family will be in st lucia for the day in october we are not doing any of the organised tours from the ship so can anyone suggest some things for us to do,myself girlfriend and our 2 children aged 8 and 1 so needs to be child friendly,one suggestion we have is take the water taxi to a nice restaurant,any suggestions will be helpful thanks.
