Hi Roz,

 

I would indeed recommend HAL. In fact I am trying to convince my parents to book a cruise with HAL on the Nieuw Amsterdam. In my opinion HAL is much more suited for those looking for a relaxed laid back type of cruise compared to the hussle & bussle of other cruise lines like RCI.

Thanks for your review. My husband and I will be sailing on HAL for the first time in January to celebrate my 30th birthday. Glad you enjoyed the line. Also glad to hear there were some open cabanas. I'd like to get one but not convinced about getting it for the entire week, since we'll only have 2 sea days on our 1-week cruise... so I was hoping to reserve just for a sea day...
