Haileysmom Posted September 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2010 We did an excursion in 2007 with Nativeway water sports and will be going back to Grand Cayman in 2011. We are looking to book the Reefs, Rays and Rum Point again with them. We had a fabulous time in 2007. Just want to make sure they are still a reputable company. Alot can change in 4 years. Anyones feedback would be much appreciated!

Oompaland Posted September 4, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2010 Google Nativeway, Cayman Islands. It will take you right there. Did RRR with them in December. Loved it!
Haileysmom Posted September 6, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted September 6, 2010 Thank you for your responses. I emailed them some questions and they answered me back right away. We loved the tour when we did it in 2007 and will book with them again for 2011. :)
jwright98 Posted September 13, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2010 what happens if there is bad weather and the ship cannot tender? Do you lose your money by booking in advance?
boopie1026 Posted September 13, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2010 you do not have to pay them until the end of your excursion-
fisherlvnv Posted September 13, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2010 We just booked them for November and they do not require a credit card to hold a reservation. We are also doing the Rays, Reef and Rum Point:)
purplethorn Posted September 14, 2010 #10 Share Posted September 14, 2010 Is this a private tour or through the cruise line? If a private tour do you reserve in advance or once you get there ?
fisherlvnv Posted September 15, 2010 #11 Share Posted September 15, 2010 It is a private tour.
readytogo813 Posted October 13, 2010 #12 Share Posted October 13, 2010 I am considering booking this tour for our December cruise on Valor. There are so many companies with good reviews that it is making it very difficult to make a final decision. It was between Nativeway, Capt. Marvin's, etc! lol I cant really figure out too many differences between them so I think we may just go with Nativeway. Do the guides actually let you feed the stingrays or do they just let you watch?
S.P.Q.R./Morunt Posted October 13, 2010 #13 Share Posted October 13, 2010 We did it several years ago and it was a blast and are doing it again next week. You reserved in advance but pay them upon arrival. yes we touched the stingrays
zukecruiser Posted October 15, 2010 #14 Share Posted October 15, 2010 It is a private tour. I will be in the Caymans in early November and wanted to do an all day tour with them based on their good reviews. They e-mailed back they were only available for the shorter stingray and snorkel tour. They will be doing the ships tours and not take any private charters. Went with Captain Marvins tour, should also be a good one based on CC comments.
Cruzinbabe06 Posted October 15, 2010 #15 Share Posted October 15, 2010 For those of you who's done the Rays, Reef and Rumpoint, will there be enough time to grab a chair and find a spot at 7 Mile Beach afterwards? I think the tour lasts about 4 or 5 hrs. Seven Mile Beach looks beautiful and we would love to relax for an hr or so. We never made it to the Caymans when we were on the Explorer, bad weather. It's so much I want to do and so little time. We are on the Glory and in port from 10am to 6pm. Thanks in advance
S.P.Q.R./Morunt Posted October 15, 2010 #16 Share Posted October 15, 2010 Marie. You might have time-I would just see what time its over. Seems like once before, the tour took some time just to get going. They may even drop you off near 7 mile beach if you ask, then you could cab it back. Cruzinbabe06 Posted October 21, 2010 #19 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Do they have videography or someone taking pictures? If not, guess we'll have to buy a disposable underwater camera. Thanks in advance
pjpurple6 Posted October 22, 2010 #20 Share Posted October 22, 2010 They didn't this year as there were 2 guides one was on the boat and one in the water, last year they had 3 guides but more people on the boat and one went in the water and they did take pictures, we brought our water camera each time. Enjoy!
Daycare Provider Posted October 25, 2010 #21 Share Posted October 25, 2010 We did nativeway in 2005 and will be booking again today for our May trip...plenty of time to grab a lounge chair and layout at Rum Point......NO they will not drop you off at Seven Mile Beach...the excursion literally gets us back in time to catch the last tender...teh food and drinks at Rum Point were really good...can't wait to go back. Cruzinbabe06 Posted October 27, 2010 #22 Share Posted October 27, 2010 Thanks for the response. We're in port from 10am to 6pm. If I'm not mistaken, the reservation states they will meet us at 11am. Will probably just have enough time to do a little shopping and get back on the ship. Thanks again;)

pcrum Posted November 2, 2010 #24 Share Posted November 2, 2010 We did RRR with Nativeway in June and then just did the Stingray and Starfish tour in Aug. and loved both of them. We did not have a water proof camera, but one of the crew stayed on the ship and used our camera to take photos for us. He did this for serveral people and got great photos. I wondered how he remembered which camera belonged to which party! I highly recommend this company as we had great service both times. Rum Pointe is vey pretty and their tour includes lunch.
