waterwatcher Posted September 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2010 I am researching now to book a cruise for next year. I was wondering what the advantage would be to book with a Cruise Critic Group. Are the savings significant? Would we be better off on a cruise that didnt have a Cruise Critic Group? Thanks for you help.
montekat Posted September 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2010 We have booked several cruises with CC. Yes, I would say there are signicant savings as well as perks such as OBC, lanyards, etc. Plus, you have the opportunity to talk online with some great people prior to cruising and then meet them onboard. It has been well worth it to us.
firefly333 Posted September 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2010 Thats a hard one to answer. I have seen some where it was a significant price savings and some not so much. It depends on what kind of deal Carnival is willing to give for that time. It is fun to go with folks you chat with ahead of time. So, some would be willing to go, even if it wasnt a significant price savings. They just have fun together. It gets to be like a family. You used to be able to say, ok if you go with us, you can get OBC, but now since you can book ES and not get any perks, can't even say that. People go because they want to. okgirl Posted September 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 20, 2010 I don't know if you saw the thread on the main Carnival board today, but Carnival is no longer extending the $25 deposit for CC group cruises. A full deposit has to be made at time of booking. The other cruise lines have not yet followed suit so you may want to check out those options.
