Conanc Posted September 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2010 Hi, We are looking for a one night pre-cruise stay in San Juan. Has anyone stayed at La Concha lately? Just wondering what the noise level is like here? I've read reports of people unable to sleep due to the party atmosphere. We are not party people but it looks like a beautiful property. We are torn between La Concha and the Marriott. Thanks!
ozark74 Posted September 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2010 We stayed at La Concha in March and we are staying there again in March 2011. There is a bar in the open air lobby that has a band. They did play late but it not keep us awake. The room was you pretty sound proof, you could not hear the ocean unless you open the sliding glass door. It is a very nice hotel, the rooms are very up to date. It has a nice beach and two pools, one in the courtyard and one by the beach. There is a nice park next to the hotel and a seawall walk.:)
santa24 Posted September 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2010 We stayed at La Concha last February. We had booked through Priceline and we got what we considered a great deal, however, we should have paid for the upgrade to a tower room, I think we were offered it for $40. With Priceline we got a Cabana room which is on ground level, right beside the inner courtyard. Yes, there was a party going on, Friday night, and the noise level was certainly louder than we are used to and kept us up on and off until about 3 am. That being said it was a beautiful hotel and if you could get one of the tower rooms facing the ocean I think it would be spectacular.
Conanc Posted September 13, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted September 13, 2010 Thank you for your comments. We booked La Concha. We will be there on a Sunday night so will hope that it is quieter than it is on a Thurs., Friday or Saturday night! :D
santa24 Posted September 14, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2010 I think you have made the right decision. Sunday night will probably be quieter and alot depends on where your room location is...and there are alot of rooms in this hotel. It is a gorgeous hotel, enjoy! sbenus Posted September 14, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2010 thurs thru sat are the peak days for the lobby bar. you won't have any issues sunday. if you want to make sure the music isn't an issue, let front desk know at check-in and ask for a higher room and toward the east end of the hotel. even better, if you can, upgrade to the new suite tower! amazing rooms and music will not be an issue guaranteed. insiders tips ;-) enjoy your stay! Podie Posted September 19, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2010 By the way, La Concha is also a Marriott. I much prefer it to the Stellaris.

beachfanatic Posted October 28, 2010 #9 Share Posted October 28, 2010 LaConcha is very nice....just mention the noise when you check in...they gave us a room facing the ocean to keep us away from the noise...was beautiful.. the locals at the pool are annoying but does not take away from the hotel stay. I wouldn't stay there more than 1 or 2 nights though
