tbmrt Posted September 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2010 We'd like to book the Barrier Reef Snorkel & Beach Break excursion, but also would like some shopping time. Our ship docks at 7am and departs at 5pm. Beach break excursion is promoted as 3.5 hours. Does anyone know if we can go into town on the same snorkel boat that drops people off back at the ship after this excursion? (this would avoid having to get another tender back to Belize) Thanks Barbara
ninkb Posted September 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2010 . . . but you can quickly change into dry clothes on the ship, then take the public tender into port and "shop" in small shops for cruisers only. You should have plenty of time. Last time we were there, that's what we did and it was no problem.
seahunters2000 Posted September 18, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2010 The ships that go to Belize have a long tender due to the fact that they can't anchor on the reef. Since Belize is all reef the tenders are long between the ship & Belize city. I would take to tour to Ambergris Cay. You can snorkel with the nurse sharks & rays and still have some time to shop in & around San Pedro. Much nicer & safer than Belize City.
tbmrt Posted September 19, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted September 19, 2010 I really like the idea of seeing Belize from the air, but wonder if the hassle of tendering in, the higher cost of this trip, grabbing a cab to the airport, etc. is "worth the trip" compared to just snorkeling thru NCL's Beach Break Snorkel & Bannister Island tour. The pics I've seen online show some pretty good snorkeling there. If we do decide to book the aerial Ambergris trip, can we wait til we get to Belize? (worried about the weather) Thanks Barbara
