Key West shopping

We will be coming into Key West on the Rhapsody which is in port from 3pm to 11:59pm (I believe this is ship time).

 

My question is how late do the shops stay open in Key West? We'd like to do a trolley/conch train tour, see the sunset, and have dinner. Will any of the shops still be open?

 

Any advice on the best places to shop would also be appreciated.

The shops vary on closing time. Many of the shops on Duval Street will stay past sunset, especially if there is a ship in town.

Two years ago we were buying diamonds at about 10:00pm on New Year's Eve.:)
