Decks five and six on Monarch

Hi,

I'm planning my first RCCL cruise on the Monarch. Decks five and six have reasonably priced cabins, but I see they're near the casino. Does the noise travel into the cabins? I'll pay extra for a quieter cabin.

 

Anything else I need to know? My most recent cruises were on Norwegian.

Just thought of another question: Are there saunas and steamrooms? And are they part of the gym or spa, and is there an extra charge. Okay, that's three questions, but together :o

No--noise won't travel. The cabins are in their own hallways...and really aren't as "open" to public areas as it may appear.

They are split decks so both have a half floor up (or down) to the shop/casino area. I always pick decks 5 or 6 on the MOnarch and I have been on it 5 or 6 times...and am going again in 2 weeks.

I was on deck 6 on monarch. One night we had noise from some lounge. Could hear the bass guiter the whole time. It was hard to sleep through.

Recently was on deck five no noise from the casino at all. Monarch has a suana no steam room. They are located in the mens and womens locker rooms. Free of charge to use!

Thank you everyone! This information is helpful. It's so much fun to plan :D If I want to really save money, I may consider a porthole, but I enjoyed the picture window I had last time. Just how small is a porthole?
