kersh Posted September 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Lindy, It depends on what sort of experience you are looking for. all of the P & O ships have their own identity. If you enjoy traditional then Oriana & Aurora may suit you. these are child friendly ships but at the time you are looking to sail will be mainly adult pax on board. Oceana is glitzy and modern but is easy to find your way around. Arcadia is slightly bigger than Oceana, not as glitzy and child free. Azura and Ventura are the biggest in the fleet. Very up to date amenities. We have done the Canaries on Arcadia, Oceana, Ventura & Arcadia everyone enjoyable but all different. Hard to choose between them which I would prefer but if pushed probably Arcadia. Sue
kersh Posted September 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Sorry Lindy should also have added that in September We had fantastic weather in the Canaries. October may be more iffy because you have the 3 days sail each way before you reach the sun and heat. sue
LibraLass41 Posted September 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2010 My first ever cruise was on Arcadia to the Canaries and it was fantastic and started this strange addiction to cruising. Went to the Canaries on Oriana last year and it was good too. Agree Sept, earliest in the month as possible a good time to go. As sea conditions in October sailing over the bay of biscay could be rough and no sunbathing either way as well.
