Would like input from cruisers who took NCL's snorkel excursion

We finally decided to take the Sun's snorkel/Bannister Island excursion rather than dealing with time/tenders involved to visit Caye Caulker. Also, from the pics I've seen of Caye Caulker's split, the swimming area isn't so nice.

Read somewhere that you may be able to stay on the excursion's tender when they dropped the snorkelers back at the ship and return with them to Belize to shop rather than getting on a later NCL tender. Also read elsewhere that this isn't possible. Has anyone done either recently?

Thanks

Barbara
