cruise cruise cruise Posted September 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2010 Cruising Princess from San Pedro. Can we make an 11:15 AM flight out of LGB for our return home on a Saturday in May? Or will I be best to find a later flight?
Rare PatriciaF Posted September 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2010 If there aren't any problems, you should be able to get off in one of the first groups and take a cab. If off the ship and through customs and immigration by 930, you should be at the airport by 10 AM or so. Should be able to check luggage and go through security in less than 1/2 hour. Does your cruise personalizer show the earliest recommended flight?
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2010 To play it safe I would book a flight at 12:00 Noon or later. Keith
Rare PatriciaF Posted September 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2010 If you go to the cruise personalizer and click on itinerary at the very end it shows the earliest times for the local airport--or at least it does for our upcoming cruise for the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami airports.
cruise cruise cruise Posted September 28, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted September 28, 2010 If you go to the cruise personalizer and click on itinerary at the very end it shows the earliest times for the local airport--or at least it does for our upcoming cruise for the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami airports. It only sates 12:30 for LAX. It does not give me any info/times for LGB
Rare PatriciaF Posted September 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 28, 2010 I think it will be very tight--any snafu and you are going to miss your flight. Transit time from San Pedro to Long Beach is about the same as LAX. If it is 1230 PM for LAX, that is probably fairly good for Long Beach although you could perhaps subtract a half hour as it is a much smaller airport. NW Native1 Posted September 29, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2010 We just returned from RCI Mariner cruise on 09/19. The ship was over an hour late due to thick fog in the port. They did not start disembarking passengers until around 9:00 am - we did not get off until 10:00 am - then got our bags & stood in the very long customs line - got to our pre-arranged shuttle pickup at 10:30 am - and did not arrive at Long Beach Airport until 11:15 am. If you run into fog or any kind of customs/homeland security delay you run a very good chance of missing your flight.
