ehogan Posted September 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2010 After much discussion with in-laws who do not want to come into the pier area to pick us up, we have decided to meet at the Marriott Copley Place (Boston). We can either get there (Googled it) by public transit (40 minutes) or taxi (12 minutes). Does anyone who has cruised into the Black Falcon port know if it is easy (and quick) to get a cab here? 138east Posted September 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2010 I don't know about the availability of cabs, but there have not been any complaints. I would not take public transportation with luggage. The Silver Line and the Red Line are fine, but the transfer to the Green Line involves steps for the transfer, steps on and off the trolley, steps out of the station, and about a 2 block walk. What day of the week would you be doing this? IMO by the time your folks get off the Mass Pike at Copley and figure out how to pull into the front of the Marriott, they could be at the cruise terminal in South Boston. But you've had that discussion, so that option is out. Have you asked them how they feel about getting off the Pike at South Station? That would be just as easy for them and very easy for you. If they are concerned about parking, you can arrange to meet at the big Post Office, which has places you can hang out for a while - I think it's Dorchester Ave. off Summer St. If you come out of the Red Line/Silver Line into South Station and head for track 15, there is a cut through to the Post Office area. If this is of interest, I can give you more details.
bollard Posted October 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2010 There are usually plenty of cabs at the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal. Rainy days or two or three ships in at the same time sometimes slow things down.
