The actual fish and chips

At this point, I must apologize for any half-eaten food porn to come, but everything was so good that we just didn't think to stop and take pictures!

We then proceeded to walk all over the ship and take pictures while our room was getting ready. Now, we had originally booked an inside room, however, as an anniversary present I secretly upgraded us to a balcony stateroom. Jason had NO idea. You don't know how nervous I was walking around and taking pictures just praying for 1:30pm to get there! So we finally go in the room and I say “ok, your present is in there”, he opens the door, looks inside and says nothing! Well, it turns out that he thought it was just a window. When he realized it was a balcony (he'd never even seen one before) the jumping for joy began!

Lots of pictures from the ship:

Some of the things offered at the Jardin Cafe. My mouth is watering right about now.

The Promenade. I don't know why, but I love this space, especially when it's nearly empty. Something about sitting on a comfy couch with your loved one near a window watching the ocean pass by.

Great review, awesome pictures! I really like the way you write, I feel like I'm reading a storybook with great illustrations!

I can't wait to hear about the proposal and ring and all. I am kind of hoping that mine and Dan's cruise in February might come to the same end, but I'm not letting him know that I'm on to him!

I can't wait to read more!

Thank you, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!!! :D

Let me tell you, I was expecting this proposal a little bit. Months and months ago I asked for his phone to look something up on the internet and when I opened it up there was a search for diamong engagement rings ! I freaked out, closed the phone, gave it back and never said a word, LOL!!!

Please come back and let us know if it happens for you too!

Nice review, I am checking in every time I get into my Computer room...

Can't wait for Jan. 15th to get here.

Thank you for taking the time to review what I hope will be my next Favorite ship. :p

You're very welcome! I would really like to do a group cruise one day. And a back to back. And an Alaska one! Or maybe do them all at once, hehe!

Also, what drinks are free on the Liberty? Juice? Lemonade?

Congrats on the engagement - can't wait to hear all about it!

And I found the Liberty to be one of the nicest of Carnival's ships (and will be sailing here again January 2012!)

Thanks!

I loved the decor on the Liberty, and the crew was just fabulous all around.

Yeah, the ports are coming, and we did a lot on each one! ;)

Free drinks were water, lemonade, and iced tea in the afternoons and in the mornings they had apple, oj, and a guava-orange mix (if I remember correctly) that was divine!

Congratulations on your engagement! Marrying your best friend is truly the way to go. Looking forward to the review as we do this cruise the week of Thanksgiving!

:o I have known Jason since we were 18 years old. He is the only man I've ever loved, truly out of a fairy tale our lives separated and then we found each other again. Our relationship just works, there's no effort to it, we're always laughing. How could I not marry that!? :D

The room felt bigger than an inside room on the Fascination, which was our last cruise, and the bathroom was much better laid-out. The sink had a whole counter-top, as opposed to our previous one where it was only a sink and nowhere to put our toiletries. It also had shelves. I was so happy!

Remember the jumping for joy?

We met our room steward, Oliver, and his assistant Newman. They were wonderful. Oliver always addressed us by name and was there for anything we needed. They did a superb job.

We stayed in the room unpacking a bit until we were called for muster drill. Oh joy! But at least we don't have to wear the life vests anymore and that was a big, big plus. We were all crammed behind the lifeboats and man was it hot! Thankfully they put us at the front of the line, but I felt really bad for the small kids there.

I forgot to mention that the Norwegian Epic was in port that day with us, and they really chose the right name for that one! EPIC. We left the port at 4:15 and sailed past the Destiny, where everybody was whistling and hollering, and waving goodbye. Let me tell you, this really put me in the vacation mood, just the all-around happiness that you could feel from those balconies! This also led us to meet our neighbors, a very nice Cuban family that we encountered everywhere throughout our cruise.
