Ivy1908 Posted September 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2010  Are there any porthole rooms on the Freedom that are considered "Insides" or what is the category to book a room with a porthole and not a "window"?
Rare Essiesmom Posted September 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2010 Category is PT, as opposed to 1A, 4A, etc. EM

KroozFoolz Posted September 30, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2010 Interior, if they are available for the sailing you are interested in. Only 6 PT cabins on Freedom.
Ivy1908 Posted October 1, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Oh ok thanks! I'll call a PVP to see if any are available and the prices.
dclark Posted October 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2010 I got cabin 2221 on the Freedom for my family of four. It is a porthole room and it was cheaper than any inside room so I guess it is a 1A. There are a couple of them toward the front of the ship and if you look at the ship's contour, you'll notice that they have slightly less room than 4A. k2excursion Posted October 1, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 1, 2010 The category PT rooms are different than 1As. Category PT will usually be the same price as a 4A. It has the 2 portholes and 2 twin beds (some of the PT rooms have a capacity of more than 2, utilizing sofas or uppers). A 1A room is cheaper than 4A or PT, but it has only one twin bed, plus either an upper or a sofa bed. Some 1A rooms will have the 2 portholes, some will not. You can see which ones do by looking at the deck plans and seeing if the room has the appropriate symbol in it. PTs are usually slightly smaller than a 220 sq.ft. OV room on the Freedom, and the 1A with portholes will be a little smaller than a PT. To see the prices for these rooms online, click on "Category" (or "Edit") when it brings you to the page asking you to pick a room in the category they picked for you. It should bring up every available category on the ship, and show you the prices. If PT is not shown right below the 4A, that means they are probably sold out for that sailing. Ivy1908 Posted October 1, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Oh ok. I'll try to look it up that way and see if I can find them. :p We usually get an inside room on Lido deck forward or midship but I was wondering about the PT rooms. AuzzieCruiser Posted October 2, 2010 #9 Share Posted October 2, 2010 Slightly off topic....I booked a Category PT on the Valor. For the same price as the cheapest inside, I thought I'd rather have the natural light.:)

Please post a picture of the cabin when you get back. I have a family of four also and wondered how the room was configured. We just got back off the Fascination and the 1a interior room held all four of us with an upper and a trundle and although it was tight, it wasn't too bad.
