Best snorkeling in Antigua

Looking for the best snorkeling in Antigua, preferably from the beach or in shallow water in order to take underwater photos. Any info will be appreciated.

Antigua is not the best island for off beach snorkelling. There are some ok spots such as Long Bay or Galleon Beach, but Antigua is more a place for lying on a beach and looking at the water.

Steve Ch - thanks for the info. I have been all over the island several times to beaches and attractions, and have always snorkeled at other islands, so was thinking of trying to snorkel there this time...:confused:

If you want some photo opportunities then you should take a boat based excursion such as the Adventure Antigua Eco Tour. The better sites are offshore.

I just posted on "Is the water always cloudy" (NO!), a more detailed description of great snorkling off of Long Bay, on the east side of the island. It is the best walkout beach we have been to... as the reef is just out front, protecting the beautiful white sand beach. Also, if you can grab a boat, or charter/tour around the area of Green Island, you will find good places too!
