Weather in the Med late Oct.

Booked on our first Windstar cruise 10/24 venice to rome. Have been watching weather for the area, but very difficult to tell if it will be warm or cold, dry or rainy. What have others packed for this time frame? Want to pack light and would appreciate any suggestions (taking the one to get the laundry package). Very much hoping to do the outdoor dining venues, sunbathing not of particular interest. Thanks for your help!
