melodystrother Posted October 7, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted October 7, 2010 What can I say? It's the GULF. good point.. I can relate.. Would you believe that our local beach ( Surfside ) was voted the #1 beach on the Gulf Coast. This was straight our of Gulf Coast magazine. I didnt get it at all and anyone who lives here thinks our beach shouldnt even been in the top 10. come on .. only thing I can say is that they didnt consider Florida strongly due to the oil spill. We are the only part of the Gulf that didnt get any oil this summer,so I guess compared to an oil slicked beach then it was possible. Who knows.. maldenmusic Posted October 7, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2010 We were at Progreso a few months ago and the water was ok. Very windy that day and there was a lot of sand being washed by the waves that made the water look a little cloudy. Further out the water looked clearer. berge11 Posted November 5, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2010 Water was a kind of gray when we went to Progresso..but still nice. I liked that it is not very deep...it was very shallow for a large part
WilliamLawson Posted November 6, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2010 Also, we have a cold front that just came in and so it is quite chilly at the moment with a lot of cloud and wind.
