HAL Stingray excursion

Hello: Just wondering if anyone has gone on a ship's excursion to the stingray sandbar? Is it worth it? Too many people?

 

We have never been to the Cayman Islands so we thought this would be something very interesting to do. Would it be better to book through HAL or to go privately? Thanks for any tips or advice.

Absolutely, go with an independent. The ship's tour will be akin to a cattle call.

We did the Carnival stingray excursion about 10 years ago and it was a blast! It was not crowded and we got a lot of personal attention. Maybe thing have changed but it was one of our favorite excursions of all time (right up there with the Harley island tour in St Marten)! It's also great for kids.

Oops.....booked through HAL so I hope it will be OK and not too crowded. We shall see and will post a report when we return.
