CruisaholiCandy Posted October 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2010 I've always tried to be at the port no later than 11:15.
Tegan121 Posted October 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2010 I haven't cruised before, but I hear a lot of people saying that they get there around 11am, and can begin boarding at 11:30 am. Good luck!:D
pixxie tails Posted October 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2010 I've always tried to be at the port no later than 11:15. We heard from the locals( the cabbies) that people are there at the port as early as 10 am to get on board. When we arrived at Port Canavaral 1030am ish...the place, and was packed already. We had plantinum status(10+ cruises) so boarded right away with little to no wait, but hope that helps! We heard from friends that they had arrived at 1030am and they were on the ship by 1115 am that day...if that helps any...the DREAM...:p
WooWooGirl Posted October 9, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2010 ugh yea..never wait until the afternoon..get up and head to the ship as you CAN get on and then you can explore, eat lunch, start with a DOD, etc etc...:D
dmdiver Posted October 9, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 9, 2010 Don't remember what time we got to port, but we've been on board & eating lunch before noon on a few trips. Just gotta wait for the rooms to be ready. I think the earliest we've gotten our room is around 1ish.
Cruise_Dreaming Posted October 9, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 9, 2010 We have always gotten to the Port by 9:30. Yes that is very early but many standards, but for us it is just the right time. We usually only have one line to stand in, and that is the line through security, and the only reason for that line is normally the security scan point has not opened yet. We do not mind the wait inside as there are chairs to sit in and we get a chance to people watch and meet some of our new "neighbors." The earliest we have been on board is 11am and the latest is 11:50am. Since you are able to explore the ship, with the exceptions of your cabin, as well as grab something to eat, we find it is a great time to get our cruise started. The ports that we have left from are New Orleans, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Port Canaveral.
Angelamu7 Posted October 9, 2010 #8 Share Posted October 9, 2010 11:00 works for us. We have found that we get there, stand in lines and sit/stand (we always allow older people to sit if the chairs are taken) then get on. Head for lunch, explore and just hang by the pool until the room is ready then back to the pool. We have gotten there as "late" as noon but we like to get there by 11:00 the very latest!
