kiosk, fun pass, boarding pass and passport

Recommended Posts

Hi all, first time cruiser here.... I have read this board, TA board, Carnival board so I say thank you for all the great information.

I do have a few questions... I have my fun pass done.. even did an edit as I had to get a new passport so it went beyond the 6 month expiry, just in case they wanted to get sticky about expiry date.. Can some one explain to me the kiosk they have in Miami... I have all my paperwork, what does the Kiosk need... I like the concept of moving quickly :) I hate really long line ups :(. So if I can use the kiosk I will ,,,, just don't want to get to kiosk and then find out I don't have the information it needs and I have to go to end of another line... If i use the kiosk is there a best time to get to the great hall so I don't have to wait for ever in line ups.. thanks again

The kiosks are touch screen and have a swipe scanner. If I remember correctly you simply input your name (or info that is on your funpass) and then scan your passport. I had a bit of a problem getting mine to scan. And then each person in your party does the same. I personally prefer the human touch of the agents. The lines are the same. Some poeple get directed to the kiosks, others to the agents.

The only thing you need to remember about the kiosks is that they want the passports put through a certain way. We did not realize that we were scanning the way we thought the scanner should work, not the way it was actually working! Took a minute to have some one to point this out. Passport and credit card, seems like that's all you needed. Then, went to pick up your room card.
