Question about C&A credits for other family members

I'm a little confused regarding C&A benefits. I have 8 cruise credits. My husband, who has been on 2 less RCCL cruises, has 8 cruise credits as well. However, my son (age 21, college student, still at home) only has 3 cruise credits...which is the actual number of cruises he has taken with RCCL.

 

I thought everyone in your household got the same number of cruise credits. I chatted online with a RCCL rep, and this is the answer I received. Is the rep correct?

CaraRCCL: [14:16] His account would only reflect yoru tier level if he was a minor. Since he is over 18, he is not attached to your account.

That is the same answer I received when I asked for an explanation of C&A benefits and how they relate to immediate family. :)

So far, our 2 sons, who are still living at home, but over 18 have received the cruise credits from our past 2 cruises.
