RatherBCrusin Posted February 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2005 This is our first Med cruise and it is on the Carnival Liberty 7/20, so we have no past info to consider. When we cruise the Caribbean and come back to US we go through a long and involved customs procedure that can be a bit unpredictable. When we cruise the Med, does the ship go through customs upon entering each country (so that we can get off), or upon our return to the port of embarkation OR is it just that we will go through customs at the airport when we leave Rome to go back home? Pls advise as we are planning our time in each port and this info would help. Thanks!!!

You will not go through customs per se until your return to the US.You will go through passport control and security at the departing airport when you leave. You will not be subjected to passport control nor customs while you are on your cruise..that is handled by the ship so enjoy.Hope this helps.Enjoy your cruise.
