Brian Raine Posted November 3, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2010 We went through the Corinth Canal a few years ago it was like coming out of a multi storey car park all of the paint scrapes along the rocks. Then the road bridge sinks below the water scary if you are driving. Jo and Rob Posted November 3, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2010 The Today newsletter gives you navigational highlights each day so you have an idea of what to look out for and what time it will happen. From Katakolon you will pass the Pelponneso peninsula, then the cape of Maleas at 7.40pm which is one nautical mile away. From Izmir the Serena transits the strait of Dardanelli which is only 1.4 km wide at it narrowest point, then an hour later the strait of Canakkale. From Istanbul you enter the strait of Dardanelli from the east. On the Sea day you will pass the Kafirea canal, the island of d'Evvoia on the right and the island of Andros on the left. A real highlight is the Cape of Maleas at about 2pm which is a distance of one nautical mile and feels so close you could touch it! The picture below is as we left it as a rainbow was hanging in the air. En route with Dubrovnik you will transit the Itaka canal, between Kefalina island and Itaka Island. Hope this helps ;)
