GMA reports no deals on holiday airfare

GMA just had a report that said there is pent up demand on airlines this year along with fewer flights....this is all leading to no last minute deals for holiday travel this year...they said there rule of thumb is just add on another $5 for every day you wait to book.

Yea, prices are just awful right now. I snagged an MIA-> SJU for around $500, which is just atrocious. However, I'm leaving the day after the universities here get out and I know everyone is flying home.

That same flight went as high as $650 and now is sitting around $550.

 

I almost feel like I could paddle a boat there for cheaper.

 

I"m also looking at MIA -> Las Vegas for March and it's around $400, whereas a friend from Raleigh can get it for $200. NO clue what is going on lately.
