teach41731 Posted June 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2004 We will be on the Navigator during the 4th of July and I was wondering if RC will do anything to celebrate? TIA!
famcruisefun Posted June 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Hello! We will be joining you on this cruise- can't wait! We have cruised twice before over July 4th. First time on Nordic Prince(RCCL)to Bermuda in '87 - dinner that night was "America the Beautiful" witers in Red,White and Blue. Second time was Horizon (Celebrity) to Bermuda in 2000. I think the midnight buffet was July 4th themed - we were in port in Hamilton - many of the hotels on Bermuda had fireworks - we spent the evening up on deck watching the various fireworks displays. I'll be curious to see what they do on Navigator. We were on Voyager last March - the ship was great - we're really looking forward to our second Voyager class cruise. The first time around we felt like we had just learned the ship and it was time to get off. Who's travelling with you? We are a family of 11 - grandparents (celebrating 50th anniv.), 2 sons and their wives, and 5 grandchildren ages 12 - 18. Counting the days! jimbulger Posted June 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2004 i cruise regularly on the 4th as my Anniversary is 7-1!!!! They all do something with Dinner.... and if you are close to as "americanized" port you may see some fireworks but usually not. On the Voyager last year they had Theatrical pyrotechnics at the end of the show (you know like rock bands use) but that was the most I had ever seen Jim Bulger Monarch explorer majesty 2X Voyager sovereign LOVE RCCL SOS Quickie
MimiD Posted June 17, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2004 We're on this Navigator cruise too, along with our two teenage children. I had wondered if RCCL would do something special to celebrate the holiday, too, but had seen a posting several weeks ago from someone who said they really wouldn't -- but they did report almost everyone on the ship when they sailed last July was wearing one of those $5 shirts from Old Navy! We won't be near a port, so I guess we won't have fireworks....
pcbeck Posted June 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2004 My family of four will be on this ship same time. Two years ago we were on a Carnival ship over the 4th. People wore lots of red, white, and blue and you saw tons of the Old Navy 4th of July t-shirts. Photos had patriotic backdrops but no mention of the 4th or special celebrations of any kind. BTW, we were in Grand Cayman on the 4th.

pinkrosesdeb Posted June 17, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2004 I don't know any cruiseline that is USA based and since July 4th is a holiday unique to the USA I don't think they really focus on this one. It is up to us to show our patriotism! Have fun!

delsig4 Posted June 17, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Teach41731 Hi, I will be on that cruise also, wearing my Red, White, & Blues on Sunday, I heard someone said they will be taking pictures with Patriotic backdrops. That should make a nice picture. Can't wait, 16 more days!
