Possibily a silly question to some, but what are the types of beer available on the Malecon? I've seen where people stated it was about $2 a beer. Is that just for Corona? What are the other types available? Thanks!!!

I always drink Montejo. Named for the founder of modern-day Merida (1540's). As far as I know, not exported. Very good.

Two bucks just about everywhere.

Corona, Dos Equis, Sol, Tecate, Modelo, Pacífico and Superior are availble in Progreso. But not all from all the bars. My favorite is Pacifico.

I concur with Mr Dawson - Modelo Especial. Skip the regular cerveza and ask for a Michelada, a local favorite. Made with Worcestershire, Tabasco, and lime juice and served in a salt rimmed glass with ice, it is a fantastic and refreshing way to sip a beer. :)

I agree with William. The Michelada is great for those that enjoy a bit of spice. I've had it at Cafe Habana. Very good and different.
