Cigar Dude Posted October 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2010 With the "warnings" about Belize and all the fenced in areas at the tender drop off...is it safe to go to Cucumber Beach, and how far is it from the tender drop off area? I had heard the warnings were exagerated but want to hear from the masses here.

wadethegringo Posted October 27, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 27, 2010 Wade, whare are your thoughts on "safety" in Belize? I have been on the island of Ambergris Caye. San Pedro for three years... Walking home,,or stumbling home I have never had a problem... Belize city is an "inner city" It is safe during the day. Just deal with the vendors and if you do drink, keep your wits or drink inside the village. Taxis are safe and honest for the most part...They might charge you tourist rates. Most trips will not be over $10us but should be closer to $5us
trade1966 Posted October 27, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 27, 2010 stay on the boat in belize...as for the beach in old belize with the water slide. it was horrible, stayed there 10 minutes and ran, sand flies were terrible, there was an oil film on the water. Belize was the worst port.
