Am laughing about the London comments. We have good friends in England, one couple lives in Hampshire not far from Heathrow and the other couple lives in Brighton and none of us ever has a desire to meet or eat in London. We often joke that London is one of the only places we have encountered a language barrier because so many folks do not speak English (especially in restaurants). So, is a day in Venice really worth a week in London? We would probably not be that harsh and might say that a day in Venice is worth about 6 days in London :)

I will let you know my thoughts when I have been to Venice, but I don,t like London either! Thankyou, Eurocruiser for that link, I can see that the waterbus goes along the Guidecca canal, so if I want to go down the Grand canal I stick to the Vaporetto! I realise that you can,t see everything in a day,I don,t think my brain could take too much rushing around, I just want to enjoy the atmosphere. :)
