Caye Caulker for the Day?

2nd time Cruisers

Recommended Posts

With the loss of Bannister Island, we are having a hard time finding something for our group of 7 to do while in Belize. We range from age 10 to 65.

Has anyone just spent the day on Caye Caulker without booking a tour? We are wanting beach time, good food, and some good shore based snorkeling, maybe a short boat based snorkel trip.

I guess I am concerned with just hopping on a water taxi, getting off on the island and having no idea where public access beaches are in relation to the docks, etc.

Thanks in advance.

You could get to Caye Caulker with Coral Breeze Tours when they take out their snorkel tour from the tourist village & stop at Caye Caulker on their way. You would also ride back with them after they finish snorkeling & local lunch on Caye Caulker, to the tourist village & your ship's tenders.

Sort of a guaranteed to & from Caye Caulker & being back on time.

Look up their site for the info.

Enjoy Belize.

Caye Caulker is a wonderful island to explore on your own. If the water taxi schedule's matches up, you will have time to explore the island, sample some great local food, have some Belikin beers at the Split. The only snorkeling is at the split. Its about a 10-20 minute walk, depending if you stop for a beer on the way. Lots of fish and star fish. Not a lot of coral, as it is a bit far from the reef.
