Beach with shade

Hi,

 

I'm going to St. Thomas in December with my husband and 16 month old. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good beach for snorkeling that has shade for my little one. My husband will likely snorkel for a couple of hours. The baby and I will join him in the water a little, but she can't be in the sun that long (she has very fair skin). So, I want to a good place to take her to play while he snorkels.

Secret Harbor would be your best choice IMO.

Coki is another beach with plenty of shade and decent snorkeling. It is also one of the prettiest beaches on St. Thomas. They have done lots of clean up in the area since the shooting of a cruise passenger there a few months ago. From what I have seen it has taken care of a lot of the seediness of the area.
