LibraLass41 Posted November 15, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2010 I'm off on Aurora to Zeebrugge in a fortnight, this is our 4th weekender to Zeebrugge and we always do the 'Bruges on your own' coach direct from ship to Bruges. This time the christmas market will be on, and ice skating rink in square as it will for you in December. Its very busy there now. If you decided on a train be aware that if the train was full, broke down or late, or you missed it, the ship will not wait for you and will sail away. A taxi can be booked in advance or there will be taxi drivers outside the ship no doubt, but is more expensive than the coach trip if there are just 2 of you. Our tour -all day from 9.45am till 4.45pm cost £22 each, paid with our free onboard credit, taxi return is a lot more , train a lot cheaper. For the train you have to get a shuttle from ship to nearby town Blankenburg and take train from Station there.
Adammara Posted November 15, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2010 There will be lots doing the shuttle/train option if you fancy that, we always did it that way. Unless its changed the P&O trip stops at the bus station on the outskirts, and you may have to walk in. If you go by train there is a bus service from the station to the centre of town. We always return in plenty of time, just in case. The last time we were in Zebrugge we left 2 passengers behind! They were on a P&O trip, but missed the bus. They got a taxi to the port, but went to the wrong terminal. They then had another taxi to get to the ship, but it got lost. The ship had to sail as another vessel was due on the berth. They got home via the ferry to Hull! What a nightmare! Richard
