catspajamasfan Posted November 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2010 Hello Everyone- I heard on a few posts that a new line up of entertainment/shows begins in December on the Pearl. Does anyone have any information about what the new shows are going to be? Any chance we may get the Blue Man Group on the Pearl...or is that just going to be on the Epic? Thanks so much! Scrappygrrl Posted November 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2010 My understanding is that it pertains to the "song and dance" production shows, not the headliner-type of acts. On the Pearl we had "South BEach Review" "gardens of the Geisha" and "Sea Legs", presented by the NCL Production Dancers. The new shows will also be "NCL production" singer/dancer shows, just new ones.
arielmurphy Posted November 16, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2010 It could be that NCL has taken over production shows - the song and dance shows - where in the past they were produced by Jean Ann Ryan.
Planer's Edge Posted November 16, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2010 It could be that NCL has taken over production shows - the song and dance shows - where in the past they were produced by Jean Ann Ryan. This is exactly what is going on. Jean Ryann's contract was not renewed by NCl in lieu of doing the production work themselves. PE
Tiggertastic Posted November 22, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2010 This sounds it may be interesting - I will check it out in the first week - if it's good will go back and if not will avoid it the second week - will let you all know when we return on 4th Jan
djmess Posted November 22, 2010 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2010 I hope NCL Productions will be good. NCL has been known for their great shows as compared to some other crusielines. Jean ann Ryan Productions have been great for the last few years I've cruised on NCL. Hope the entertainment standard is still has high! Those sailing in Dec and January with the new shows, please keep us posted!
arielmurphy Posted November 23, 2010 #8 Share Posted November 23, 2010 Actually, NCL owns the rights to the shows; the songs, music, dances, JAR produced them. They should be very similar to the shows in the past. I'm sure NCL will twink them, but overall they should be the same.

Those sailing in Dec and January with the new shows, please keep us posted! We were on the Dawn in Oct. and the Sun last week and the NCL Production Co shows were, IMO, much better than the JAR was. Dolphins Posted November 23, 2010 #10 Share Posted November 23, 2010 After many years, is it possible that the Dawn will finally replace Bollywood?
djmess Posted November 24, 2010 #11 Share Posted November 24, 2010 Sounds like they will still be good. A little tweeking never hurts. Maybe they will change the Dawn's shows after it's dry dock in May 2011. Update ship, shows, etc. That could be nice
