Bags and Rental car at Port Everglades

Whats the arrangement for RCL with respect to handing over the large bags that get taken to the cabin?

 

We will have a rental car and quite a few bags. Just the two of us but the other half does not travel light. Do the porters take the bags off you immediately on arrival or do you have to stay with your bags awhile?

 

The idea that I have is to drop off the bags early like at 11:00 or 12:00 at the terminal at Port Everglades, return the rental car and then return to terminal and get checked in. I could leave the other half at the terminal but as I am not sure how long I'll be, I thought it might be easier to keep together and return the rental car together.

we always drop our bags around 10-1030 am to the porters then off to the airport to drop car. no lugging baggage just our carryons.
