HazeGray Posted November 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2010 I seem to recall reading in past posts that there was some construction on the green line that affected travel to the Acropolis from the port. What will be the best metro route to get to the Acropolis?

see you soon Posted December 8, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2010 The green line runs from Piraeus to Monastraki, after that it is dug up due to excavations. From there, you can walk to the Acropolis. We were planning to ride to the Victoria stop for the Archaeological Museum. If that is not possible is there a bus? We are not going to Athens until May 2011 but construction takes a while. Thanks for your help See you soon Mae
HazeGray Posted December 22, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted December 22, 2010 We just got back from Athens on the Brilliance. We took the green line from Piraeus to Monastraki where it stopped. We were told to get to the Acropolis stop you would have to change to the Blue line then change to the Red. We opted to walk from Monastraki which is often referred to as the back side of the Acropolis. Halfway up, we met the other path from the front side at the entrance. After visiting the Pantheon, we walked down the front side and walked back around the Acropolis through Plaka back to the Monastraki stop and took the metro back to Piraeus. The walk from the ship to Metro was about 1.2 miles along the sidewalk in a nice area. We figured all in all we walked about 7 miles that day.
