stoneman56 Posted November 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2010 Any suggestions? Is one better than the other?? Does anyone know the cost for a taxi to the Miami Airport? It is a set $22 from the airport to the port and $2 more from the port to the airport. The cab drivers have to pay a $2 to pickup from the terminal and they charge that to you. Why Knot Me Posted November 18, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2010 The NCL shuttle can take a while to get you to the port since you will circle around the airport picking other people up. The shuttle will be full or mostly full by the time you leave the airport. This process can cause delays depending on when your flight arrives compared to others. We like to be on our own and take a taxi. The additional cost is worth it to us.
Redheel Girl Posted November 18, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2010 We took NCL's shuttle from the Star and it does take longer first to load passengers and then to drop them off at their Airlines terminal. I have read many of the CC's say the Taxi is faster and easier and now I agree with them. There were many Taxi's waiting.;)
winslow050 Posted November 18, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2010 When ever we sail out of Miami we always take a taxi from the airport it only cost $24.00, flat rate and your at the port in 20 minutes or less...have a great cruise
timeforadaiquiri Posted November 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2010 I have done both and I prefer to get the taxi. It's faster. You just get in a line and if you are with a group they wave the vans to you. You may sit on the shuttle for quite awhile until it is full. garycarla Posted November 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2010 This is by the far the easiest decision to make. A) Cheap, maybe cheaper, fast, no waiting, no delays or B) Expensive, slower, delays, hassles, irritations Grab a cab and be at the airport while others are still wondering what the holdup is. Vyhanek Posted November 18, 2010 #8 Share Posted November 18, 2010 TAXI!! Way faster, it's waiting right outside the terminal probably 10 ft from the door. By the end of the cruise you will be tired of lines, tired of waiting and tired of people. The shuttle service is more of that. The taxi is quiet, no people, no lines, no hassle. I have no idea what the price difference is but after doing both, I would never again go with the NCL shuttle. It's unnecessary hassle.
Zeno Posted November 18, 2010 #9 Share Posted November 18, 2010 No contest - Taxi ($24 - when I was last there) - DON'T let them claim there is an 'extra' charge - there isn't!) This is a flat rate for up to three people (NOT per person) - this is the cost of the taxi period - the only "extra" would be a tip of whatever amount YOU want to give.
