Time at the Ruins

Hi everyone,

 

We're going to Belize next month and my husband really wants to do one of the tours of the ruins. I read somewhere that if you go to Altun Ha with the Carnival excursions, you only spend about 45 minutes there... is that true? Does anyone know how much time you get to spend at Xunantunich? Since this is the excursion he's most excited about, I want to make sure he has plenty of time to enjoy.

We did the Carnival excursion to Xunantunich two years ago. We spent about an hour 1/2 or more at the ruins. Plenty of time to climb around and tak pictures. But with lunch and the long bus ride, it's a full day. I beleive the ship excursions to Altun Ha include other stops so they may limit the time at any stop.

but the long bumpy ride to get there and back. There seems to be a speed bump on every block.
