Golf in Fort Lauderdale area? No answers on florida port thread...

:confused:I asked this on the florida page but no answers. Anyone here......We have an extra day in Fort Lauderdale before the cruise and DH &DF want to go golfing. Any suggestions of where. The women may want to go shopping at the same time, so something in the same area would be good. Maybe Plantation...we will have a rental car, so will be able to get around easy enough.

I don't golf, but did live in the Plantation area for 10 years. Seemed like there were golf courses on every corner :p

There is plenty of shopping nearby including Broward Mall, or Sawgrass Mills in nearby Sunrise.

We also had problems finding affordable golf near Ft. L. I was looking for a par 3 course, and since I don't play well so didn't want to pay a whole lot. We ended up at Cooper Colony Golf and Country Club. (954-434-2181). Not 'top notch', but we both enjoyed ourselves. Turtles, ducks, and huge iguanas on the course. They don't have their own website, but here's some add'l info. You will need a car to get there.
