ivansbride1955 Posted December 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2010 What is the latest time you can get off the Jewel in FLL. Our flight home isn't until 4:00, so we don't have to be at the airport until 2:00. So, obviously, we don't have to be in a rush to get off the ship. What is the latest time we can "hang around" before we have to depart the ship?

They can't start boarding the next cruise until everyone is off the ship. Consider a post cruise excursion or getting a rental car for a few hours. cb at sea Posted December 11, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2010 Compare the price of a rental car, or post cruise excursion to changing to an earlier flight! They want you of ASAP...and there's no "service" to speak of on the last morning....
gypsy mom Posted December 14, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2010 Just off the Jewel. our flight was at 2:55, so we had the same problem. You could stay in your stateroom until shortly before your assigned time to leave if you wanted, but our stateroom attendant was knocking at 9 a.m. wanting us to leave. We went up to the Coral Theatre which was our assigned place to depart from at 10:10, but around 9:45 they announced everyone on board should depart at that time. Took awhile to go through Customs, then we grabbed a cab to FLL. Could not check our luggage until noon, so we found a place to sit and got out our notebook computer, as the airport has free Wi-Fi. Not a bad airport to hang out in, as there are stores and places to eat. There was a Chilis Too which had a waiting line to get into, would be a good place to grab a leisurely lunch after checking your luggage. There was also a public luggage storage place near there if you didn't want to drag your luggage around, don't know what it costs. Sharon
pltag Posted December 14, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 14, 2010 You should get off the ship at least 2 - 3 hours earlier than you plan on boarding the ship at the start of your cruise! Sound fair ???? :D
