licrzr Posted December 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2010 We were supposed to fly out tom and start our RCL cruise on sunday but we had to cancel as our son has fallen ill suddenly. :( My question for people who have used Cruise Care (through RCL) is how do you get a refund for airfare? Our air tkts (booked through Expedia) were non refundable but when we canceled, we got a credit towards future use. Does that mean Cruise Care won't refund our original tkt price? We will not be using the credit anyway because the rebooking fees are atrocious and costs almost double the total credit amt. I will call them tom morn to confirm but was just wondering if somebody has done this before? It will help to know that we won't be losing money on top of our planned holiday. licrzr
sirwired Posted December 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2010 Yes, they should refund you the full amount. You will probably have to sign a form promising not to use the credit, and to refund the insurance company if you do.
licrzr Posted December 13, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted December 13, 2010 Thanks. I was also able to confirm with cruise care that they will refund the original ticket price and the credits will no longer be usable.
