Pacific Pearl Skims Past Cairns

According to Marinetraffic.com the Pacific Pearl came very close to Cairns yesterday and is now making a direct path to NZ. Was she re-fueling or just having a look? If this is correct, she should arrive in Auckland early. (due 7.00am 18th) To make you all jealous, besides getting sneak peak with a camera crew on the 19th, I today got invited to the ceremony on board on the 21st. Can't wait! Then only 9 days later we will be sailing on her.

She must have just been passing - there's no record on the Q-Ships shipping movements of her stopping in Cairns.

Could a ship make it from Singapore to Auckland without re-fueling?

Don't see why not - Dawn & Jewel came from Singapore to Sydney without refueling - and Auckland wouldn't be that much different in mileage, so shouldn't be a problem

Well done and it's just a classic example of the old adage Kiwi Sailor; it's not what you know but WHO you know!
