Summit Sky Suites - Glass Elevator Problems

Hi Again. One more question...can people on the elevators see into the balcony of the Sky Suites on the Summit? There are only 2 left but I have a feeling there will be many eyes on the balcony. Any thoughts?
Thanks

You know for the entire 12 days that I was on the Summit in Feb. and as many times as I rode in the glass elevators, I do not remember seeing any people on any decks that I could look at! Don't have a clue as to what you're talking about!

In the brochure the elevators are right next to certain baclonies. The ones in question are the sky suites which surround the elevators on Panoramo and Sky decks. When we wer on the Zuideram there is a glass elevator and you could actually see into the balconies of the cabins as you rode up and down. I believe the elevator on the port side of the Summit is glass and I am wondering if you can see left or right into the balconies? Or perhaps does the elevator only look straight out?

Thanks

OH yes, I completely forgot about this. When we where on the milli there was a young couple in the sky suite next to the elevator. they where very loud, and constantly waving from there balcony, when we where in ports. and YES, you could see the balcony and anything on it from inside the elevator.

Hello ccletzgo

I see that you are sailing on the Galaxy 9/17/04. So are we! There is a little thread for this cruise over on the Celebrity Connections board that is dying for lack of participation. So far only 8 have signed up for the Connections party.

Sorry Don, but the glass elevators are on the port side and the Celebrity Suites are on the starboard side. Check out the deck plans.

CoBob,

People on the elevator can see part of the balcony if they strain to look at it. Most folks are standing with their backs to the sea looking at the floor indicator lights or looking down at the ocean--also the elevators are usually crowded so trying to look at other people's balconies is way too obvious. Of course, you will find some nosey cruisers on every ship, but I wouldn't let that deter your decision on the SS if that is what you want and it's priced right.

Those Sky Suites that you mentioned are the handicap/accessible ones and the furnishings will be placed differently. The bathroom will have a roll in shower with a fold down seat, grab bars everywhere and an emergency call button in several locations in the cabin. There is also a ramp over the balcony doorway to allow for wheelchair access. This ramp is usually removable, so if you don't need it it can be taken out of the way.

Enjoy your cruise, whichever cabin you're in
