Mariner Luggage storage

Luggage-free comes in 2 days (!?) to pick up our bags for our 71 day SA adventure on the Mariner. We are usually pretty light packers, but not this time! We are taking full advantage of door-to-door luggage and will probably have 6 or 7 40-50lb suitcases combined. We are taking a few more clothing/shoes options than normal, snorkle gear, antarctica gear, as well as a fairly large tourbook and map collection. Now I'm concerned that we'll run out of storage space in the cabin for all the empty bags. Does anyone have any success stories asking the steward to stow empty bags in the hold for the duration of the cruise?

Steward may well be able to store bags for you. You can also slide some under the bed or beds, which we do.

 

 

We just used LuggageFree for one large bag on a short cruise. It showed up in our suite the afternoon we boarded and arrived back home a few days after we returned home. Everything went smoothly, but we haven't got the bill yet - and I don't think the "Free" part of name means it's free!

Thanks TedC. In this case free actually is "free", since Luggage Free service is included as one of the perks from Regent to customers doing the entire 71 day cruise. (4x50 lb bags per person via Lugagge Free at no extra charge). Glad to hear the service works!

 

We do usually use the under the bed space, but I'm not sure there is enough room, even with nesting.

Not to worry. We've been on 2 WC's and also SoAm trip and there are many passengers who made us (and will make you) look like light weights. What doesn't fit under you bed will be stored in a large luggage storage area. The next time you see them will be the last few days of your cruise when you (sadly) start repacking.

 

You're in for a fantastic cruise. The SoAm circumnavigation was probably our very favorite. :)
